Bookshop Illustration by Tatiana Saturday Sketch

In this short note, I will tell you about one of my favorite bookish places in Prague – the Shakespeare a synové (Shakespeare and sons) bookshop.

Bookish Places – new series of posts

Are bookshops also the first places you run to when visiting a new city?
I am starting a new series about the most beautiful and cozy bookshops in Prague and other cities I have visited – places with a true bookworm atmosphere, perfect for anyone searching for bookish or book-aesthetic spots to explore.

Shakespeare a synové (Shakespeare and sons) bookshop

Hello Everyone,

I have not been writing here for a while, but I could not stay away – too many beautiful bookshops in Prague to share. Luxor and Kosmas may be well-known names in Prague, but Shakespeare a synové is a rare treasure, quietly waiting for book lovers in the old-town district of Malá Strana.

Address: U Lužického semináře 10 (also written as 91/10), 118 00 Praha 1 – Malá Strana, Czechia

The shop has two floors filled with thousands of books. You will find new fiction, poetry, travel guides, cookbooks and many books about Prague and Czech history.

I love this shop for its warm atmosphere. The wooden shelves, cozy corners and the smell of books make it a perfect place for book lovers to spend hours exploring.

The bookshop is located in a charming old building near Charles Bridge and the Kafka Museum, which makes it a very cozy and cultural place.

On the lower level, in the historic basement, there is a small reading room with a view of Certovka canal and the Gothic Charles Bridge. You can go down there, look through the books and enjoy the quiet atmosphere.

With every order you receive a special bookmark as a small gift. Do not forget to have a look at their beautiful small journals in many colors and the tote bags with the Shakespeare logo. These little extras make the visit to the shop even more special.

My Stickers and Postcards at Shakespeare a synové? Not Yet, but…

I would be so happy to have my postcards and stickers sold here, but unfortunately they do not work with individuals like me (I asked). However, you can find all my goodies online, including the sticker pack with the main sticker showing the Shakespeare a synove entrance.

Thank you for reading about one of my favorite bookshops in Prague. I hope you enjoyed this little journey into the world of Shakespeare a synové. If you have any questions or want to share your own bookshop discoveries, please write them in the comments – I would love to hear from you!

Thank you,

-Tatiana
