Recently, at several art markets, different people asked me the same question: how do I create my postcard illustrations?

Every postcard starts with research. Usually I work from my own travel photos. And I always love when I get to return to that same city, where I once took the photo that inspired the postcard. I love photographing my postcards and stickers on location! As well as studying the architecture, making quick sketches and looking for small details that give a place its own character.

I enjoy turning real places into illustrations that people can keep, collect or send to someone they love.

Most of my postcards have been inspired by places I visited myself. But I would also love to create custom illustrations of meaningful places for other people. If there is a place that is special to you, I would love to hear its story and create an illustrated postcard for you!
